But these major events are just a small part of the activity of Royal Deeside. Throughout the year there are events intended for the enjoyment of both visitors and residents of the area. (One of the joys of a holiday in Royal Deeside is that nearly all clubs welcome visitors to join in the activities.) Typical of these events are numerous gala weeks and the excellent little pantomime produced each December by the residents of Braemar. Information about 'what's on' in Royal Deeside will be supplemented by details of publications that report on what's been happening or what's going to happen. This can be general such as the Ballater Eagle or more specific, such as church news in the Aboyne Tattler. There is no purely web-based news service in Royal Deeside but there are fledgling efforts such as on-line extracts from the Ballater Eagle and the 'tongue-in-cheek' Ballater Bugle. It is probable that the new Cairngorms National Park will require a newsletter of its own - possibly web-based - so more will happen on this front.
