On this page we will present some information about the walks and other activities that can be undertaken in and around Tarland. On related pages we describe four walks around the village.
The descriptions of these walks are based on brochures produced in 2004 by the Tarland Development Group with help from the Upper Deeside Access Trust. |

Village Panorama The handsome Victorian
church of St Moluag with it’s beautiful rosary window, designed
by Douglas Strachan, was erected in 1870 and provides an impressive backdrop
to the Golf Course. This excellent nine hole course is overlooked by Alastrean
House, currently a residential retirement home for ex members of the RAF.
Tarland has a rich history of settlement and sites of historic and prehistoric interest. Visit the Earth House at Culsh, thought to be an Iron Age store room once attached to a round house. Park at Tomnaverie, walk up to the recumbent stone circle and experience the spectacular view of Lochnagar between the stones flanking the recumbent. Many of the groups and organisations listed below welcome visitors and new members. St Moluag’s
