Tomnaverie Stone Circle by Tarland

Tomnaverie

One of Tarland’s network of paths leads to Tomnaverie stone circle. The beginning of the path is marked by the egg shaped, granite sculpture carved by a local artist for the Millenium. Tomnaverie, dating from around 2000BC, is a particularly good example of a recumbent stone circle typical of those found in the North East of Scotland. From Tomnaverie the visitor can enjoy expansive views of the Howe of Cromar in all directions.
