Tomnaverie One of Tarland’s network of paths leads to Tomnaverie stone circle. The beginning of the path is marked by the egg shaped, granite sculpture carved by a local artist for the Millenium. Tomnaverie, dating from around 2000BC, is a particularly good example of a recumbent stone circle typical of those found in the North East of Scotland. From Tomnaverie the visitor can enjoy expansive views of the Howe of Cromar in all directions.
The Play Park Formerly the venue
for Tarland show the play park is a picnic area and well provided with
equipment to suit local and visiting children. Nearby are tennis courts
and a bowling green which welcome visitors. A recycling centre for glass,
paper and plastic is sited in the car park. |
