Royal Deeside : Contact and Website Information

This website is owned by Ballater (RD) Ltd - a registered Scottish Charity. Originally created to promote Ballater and the surrounding area, the website was expanded with the aid of a grant from Scottish Enterprise (Grampian) to include information for the wider Royal Deeside area including Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory. This exercise has required co-o-operation between the three members of the Royal Deeside Partnership, namely

The Braemar Tourism Group is an association of Braemar businesses that have interest in promoting tourism. Members act individually and jointly to promote attractions and to gain publicity for the area. Examples of their role include organising Braemar Gala Week each July and organising studies into the impact of the new Cairngorms National Park.

Ballater (RD) Ltd and Mid-Deeside Ltd are Scottish registered Charities and Companies limited by Guarantee. Their aims are to utilise best practice to build capacity in the community; to undertake projects designed to sustain the local economy; to promote a sense of pride in the burghs of Ballater and Aboyne respectively and in the surrounding areas. The organisations use voluntary skills from within the communities. They have received private donations and public funding support from the Scottish Executive, Lloyds TSB, The Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Enterprise Grampian, Leader + and The Cairngorm Partnership

The Royal Deeside Website

The website covers Royal Deeside generally but occasionally provides more detail for individual areas of Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory. The website is intended to serve both the business community and the residents of Royal Deeside along with the many visitors to the area. Businesses are welcome to provide details for inclusion in the various directories but will be expected to check that the information published is correct. Community groups may also provide relevant information about their activities for inclusion in the community directories.

The authors of the site recognise that there will be continuous need for expansion and improvement and would welcome enquiries from those wishing to provide assistance.
