The Ballater Business Association was formed in 1993 to bring together business and professional persons with a common interest in promoting business and community interests in the village of Ballater and the surrounding area. One of its first actions was to host a public meeting which heard proposals to turn the old ‘royal’ Ballater Station into a Visitor Centre complete with royal carriage. Now in 2008 the exercise reaches fulfillment with the delivery of the carriage. The BBA has also been involved in a variety of community activities such as organisation of Christmas Fayres, Christmas lighting and sponsorship of the Ballater and District Pipe Band. Meetings
are on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm – the location
can vary so please check our Events section for the next meeting and further
information on membership at www.visitballater.com.

Currently our activities involve promotion of and communication between local businesses by inviting speakers to the meetings, exchanging ideas to promote business in the area, and discussion of relevant local issues. One feature of Ballater is the many businesses holding a Royal Warrant. This is both a privilege and an indication of the good quality service that is provided. In 2007, the BBA set up its own web site with a view to advertising Ballater as an attractive holiday destination for visitors from around the world.
