Royal Deeside : Ballater Victoria Week

	August 6th - August 14th 2011 Twenty four years will have elapsed since Ballater and Royal Deeside first celebrated Victoria Week in 1987. It was and remains a week of fun for all the family, with a programme of events which has evolved over the years. Within two years Victoria Week had won an award for the best new event in Scotland. Since then it has steadily grown, retaining old favourites and introducing new ones. The flavour of the week is fun for everyone - and the simplest things are the most fun! Central to Victoria Week is the Ballater Highland Games. One of the oldest and one of the best, it is always held on the second Thursday in August. An event which is not to be missed.

Victoria Week offers a programme of events, old favourite and new surprises - Parades, concerts, music, dancing, walks, competitions, amusements for the children, a 'ghosts and ghoulies' run and not least, the Ballater Highland Games. No wonder many people return year after year for Victoria Week.

Throughout the week, the fun is fast and furious, and the secret of a good time is to join in EVERYTHING! Look around for old friends, make some new ones and let your hair down. If you want more exercise choose a walk or cycle safari or take part in the 'hill race' but if you want a breather, try the hilltop safari, and look out over Ballater to the hills beyond.

The 'Hut on the Green' is the hub of Victoria Week. As box office, information point and general meeting place, it is great for a gossip, and the latest information on events will always be displayed there. We want you to have a great time in Ballater - take a deep breath, and just plunge in!
