Royal Deeside : Community Services

Images of Royal Deeside
home page

This section of the web-site is intended to provide information on the services which are available to the community. As such it should in part act as a form of community web-site. Here we will list churches to chiropodists, plumbers to politicians. Mostly, the information given will be brief and no attempt made to provide 'qualitative' information or opinion. However, where deemed necessary, such as for Doctors' Surgeries, extra information such as surgery hours will be given.

This list will be complemented by directories given elsewhere in this web-site (Businesses and Services, Accommodation and Food, Community Activities) and those sections should be consulted if the information is not given here.

At present this information is being compiled on an area basis (see red buttons above). Once this operation is complete a combined directory will appear here.

The community of Aboyne is supported by a range of services such as health, education, religion, post and local government. Most of these services are used by other areas of Royal Deeside. However, some of the services are more specific. Thus, for example, the recently refurbished Victory Hall and surrounds is locally managed for the benefit of the community.

On this page we intend to provide details of services supporting the communities of the Aboyne area. Two such areas are already covered (see buttons on the left), namely health and education.

The school at Aboyne (Aboyne Academy) and the Community Education Centre at Aboyne service a vast area stretching westwards deep into the Cairngorms National Park.
