Royal Deeside : Ballater Community Activities

Ballater has a lively community with a host of clubs ranging from the substantial Golf club through to the indoor bowling club. Many clubs, such as the Ballater Royal Horticultural Society, meet on a regular basis, especially during the winter months. Nearly all of these clubs welcome visitors to Ballater to their meetings.

Ballater also organisers various events open to residents and visitors alike. The most important of these are the Golf Week and Walking Week, both held in May, and Victoria Week held in August. Ballater Highland Games, which is now well over 100 years old, is also held in August.

One group helping to ensure that things in Ballater run smoothly is the Ballater and Crathie Community Council. The council meets on a monthly basis and coordinates its activities with other councils in Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park
